"The Cat From Hell" is based on one of King's early short stories, first published in March 1977 issue of Cavalier. There were only first 500 words of the story published in that issue and readers were challenged to finish the story themselves. The winner story was published in June 1977 issue of Cavalier, along with King's own complete version.
