Bits and pieces of Carrie, Salem's Lot, Christine and Cat's Eye can be recognized along the way. At the end of the episode, Sam realizes he just met Stephen King, before he was a famous writer, when he says goodbye to Stevie, who rides off in a car with his mom and his St. Bernard dog named Cujo.
