Things do more than go bump in the night when Sam leaps into Joshua Raye, a horror novelist, on Halloween 1964. Although Ziggy claims he's there to prevent the death of a church deacon, things get even stranger when two more people die without warning. Bits and pieces of Carrie, Salem's Lot, Christine and Cat's Eye can be recognized along the way. At the end of the episode, Sam realizes he just met Stephen King, before he was a famous writer, when he says goodbye to Stevie, who rides off in a car with his mom and his St. Bernard dog named Cujo.

Things like VCRs cutting off some of the episode and cable going out, etc. Chris Rupenthal, this episode's writer, has been nicknamed "Rupenboogie". The episode received an Emmy Nomination for Art Direction. Stephen King himself had nothing to do with this episode.
